SSC2022 is the 17th annual Social Simulation Conference and will take place from 12–16 September 2022 at the University of Milan, Italy. The conference is organised by European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) and it is one of its main activities aimed at promoting social simulation and computational social science in Europe and elsewhere.

The conference will be hybrid: it will take place at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Milan with the usual pre-pandemic conference setting (rooms, coffee breaks, luncheons and social events) but participants will be also given the opportunity to attend all sections remotely via online streaming.

The conference will be organised with plenary sessions of general interest, invited lectures and parallel sessions, tracks and workshops. ESSA-related events will take place, including a general assembly and a final cerimony for the best paper/poster awards, including the Rosaria Conte Outstanding Contribution to Social Simulation Award and the Best PhD dissertation award. For information on these awards, please visit the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) website.

If you are considering an introductory or advanced training on agent-based modelling, note that on 29 August-9 September 2022, the ESSA-Behave Summer School on Agent-Based Modelling will take place in Brescia, near Milan (or online). Information here.
