SSC2022 is the 17th annual Social Simulation Conference and will take place from 12–16 September 2022 at the University of Milan, Italy. The conference is organised by European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) and it is one of its main activities aimed at promoting social simulation and computational social science in Europe and elsewhere.

The conference will be hybrid: it will take place at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Milan with the usual pre-pandemic conference setting (rooms, coffee breaks, luncheons and social events) but participants will be also given the opportunity to attend all sections remotely via online streaming.

The conference will be organised with plenary sessions of general interest, invited lectures and parallel sessions, tracks and workshops. ESSA-related events will take place, including a general assembly and a final cerimony for awards, including the Rosaria Conte Outstanding Contribution to Social Simulation, the Best PhD dissertation, the Best student paper/poster. All authors of accepted full papers and extended abstracts will be given the opportunity to submit their papers for either a special section of JASSS-Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation or a Springer Proceedings in Complexity book
